Individualized Comfort and Support...Sleep Better Together

Sleep Better Together

Experience the comfort and support you need, from soft to extra firm, without compromise.

Each side of the Synchrony™ adjustable firmness mattress adjusts independently. Even if you and your partner cannot agree on how soft or firm your mattress should be, you don’t have to compromise.

How to stop a snoring partner

If your snoring keeps your partner awake, it can create major relationship problems. Thankfully, sleeping in separate bedrooms isn’t the only solution for snoring.

Snoring happens when you can't move air freely through your nose and mouth during sleep. Elevating your head with a Thomasville® adjustable base may ease breathing and encourage your tongue and jaw to move forward.

Too Soft or Too Firm

An adjustable firmness mattress that uses air as its core, like the Thomasville® Synchrony™ mattress, features independent adjustability for both sides of the bed, allowing each of you to select your ideal level of firmness and support from soft to extra firm. What is the proper and most comfortable Support Index® for you is probably not the ideal Index for your partner. So when you don’t agree on how soft or firm your mattress should be, why compromise. Each of you can experience the best night's sleep of your life...on the same mattress! When you purchase a Thomasville® Synchrony™mattress, you will see how it is now possible to Sleep Better Together.

Too Much Tossing and Turning

Excessive tossing and turning by one partner or the other can certainly can be a source of frustration for any couple. While there are some sleep disorders that feature periodic or excessive movements (like restless leg syndrome, which is treatable), most of the time it’s the result of a build up of pressure that then causes discomfort. If you or your partner is experiencing sleep disrupting tossing and turning, it may be time to re-evaluate your current sleep surface. Any mattress that exerts too much pressure will cause you to toss and turn.

So what are pressure points, you may be wondering, and what causes them? Pressure points are the result of the weight of your body pressing down on the mattress and the mattress pressing back against your body, trapping your skin, muscles and blood vessels in the middle. The points where the weight and pressure are the greatest are the pressure points. This is usually at the hips, knees and shoulders. The discomfort of the pressure on the body forces the sleeper to roll over, most of the time subconsciously, meaning the body gets a less effective rest. You may not even realize how many times you toss and turn throughout the night, but if you wake up sore and not fully refreshed, you may have spent the night tossing and turning instead of experience the deep, restorative sleep you need.

The Thomasville® Synchrony™ mattress uses air as its support system. You can adjust the level of support you need from 1 to 100, in single digit increments, until you find that perfect balance of comfort and support, effectively eliminating all those annoying pressure points that cause excessive tossing and turning. And while a larger mattress provides more room and can sometimes reduce disturbances between couples, why not sleep on a mattress that can isolate the motion between you and your partner while eliminating unhealthy pressure points at the same time. Separate air chambers in the Thomasville® Synchrony™ mattress creates two independent sleep surfaces...in the same bed. Your partner's movements are isolated and will not disturb you throughout the night.

Snoring

If your snoring keeps your partner awake, it can create major relationship problems. Just about everyone snores occasionally, but if snoring happens frequently it can affect the quantity and quality of your sleep and that of your partner. Snoring can lead to poor sleep and daytime fatigue, irritability, and increased health problems. Thankfully, sleeping in separate bedrooms isn’t the only solution for snoring.

A Thomasville® Synchrony™ mattress paired with an adjustable power base may be just what the doctor ordered. People who snore often have too much throat and nasal tissue, or “floppy” tissue that is more likely to vibrate. The position of your tongue can also get in the way of smooth breathing. Snoring happens when you can't move air freely through your nose and mouth when sleeping. Elevating your head with an adjustable base may ease breathing and encourage your tongue and jaw to move forward.

It’s crucial to note the different ways you sleep and snore. Sleep positions reveal a lot, and figuring out how you snore can reveal why you snore. When you know why you snore, you can get closer to a cure. Snoring accompanied by a cessation of breathing for prolonged periods of time could be an indication of a more serious issue, such as sleep apnea, and should be discussed with your physician.
